Amelia Brie Bennett Ph.D. Candidate - Angela Gelli Lab

Amelia Bennett As a 5th yr. Microbiology PhD candidate , first-generation college student, and former Mcnair Scholar, I am excited to share my knowledge and experiences with students who want to pursue their interests in graduate school. My hope is that I can help marginalized students not only feel confident in their research but also develop skills in communicating their hard work and ideas in a variety of ways: in journal articles, at conferences, and in graduate school applications. Oftentimes, students are afraid to ask questions and voice their ideas which contributes to a lack of innovation in academia. So, most importantly, wherever students are in their academic journey and career pursuits, I want to help students feel comfortable taking up space as they pursue higher education and their career goals. Amelia received her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from Cornell University.
